XMG Studio recognized by industry elite
12.04.2010, Toronto, ON — XMG Studio has been named a Finalist in two categories for the inaugural Canadian Videogame Awards (CVAs): Best Handheld Game and Best Downloadable Game.
The Canadian Videogame Awards will celebrate the best and brightest in Canadian videogames. The awards ceremony will be held on May 5, 2010 in Vancouver, British Columbia just prior to the 2nd annual GDC Canada conference (Game Developers Conference) on May 6 and 7.
“We are honoured to be named a finalist for the Canadian Videogame Awards, especially in the company of global hits in the Handheld Game and Downloadable Game categories. In the best Handheld game category XMG is the only developer nominated with a game specifically designed for a mobile phone. XMG has high respect for the other nominees who clearly show Canada is a proven talent base for World-class video game talent. Franchises such as Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, and the EA Sports group are all products of Canadian-based game studios,” said Ray Sharma, founder of XMG Studio.
The CVA’s will be broadcast across the country on G4 Canada through the Rogers Network. The Canadian Videogame Awards are produced by DigiBC – The Digital Media + Wireless Association of BC, in partnership with Reboot Communications, Seven Group and Greedy Productions.
